Jupiter 521S Review: Jupiter 521S Alto Flute (with Straight and Curved Headjoints). When I was looking to acquire an alto, I play-tested the Jupiter side-by-side with the comparable Dean Yang model. While the Dean Yang had a smoother, lighter mechanism, the Jupiter out-performed in other areas. The headjoints are cut with just the right amount of resistance to allow for a gorgeous lower register without sacrificing the sweet, haunting upper register.
